Termas Papallacta Hotel

Recognized in the travel industry as among the very best (if not “the” best!) resort in South America we couldn’t agree more after just our three night stay in April 2023! We have also included an extensive entry for this wonderful property on our Ecuador page but it deserves another mention on our “best of” page!

If you are going to Ecuador do not miss this property. It’s an hour east of the Quito airport. Jorge Villarruel of Tourexpress & Transfers will bring you here. We used him for our intercity transfers for Otavalo, Quilotoa Lake and Papallacta. Nice car and great guy. Highly recommend.

We have a lot more travel planned in South America in the Fall and Winter of 2023/24 and we will be looking for any property that meets or exceeds the experience we had at Termas Papallacta Hotel!

Initially, we thought $210/night was a little steep given our other travel planning in the country. It wasn’t — worth every cent. We stayed in a Family Cabin, a larger room with a sitting room and wood burning fireplace. It’s when just a three night stay feels like a week at the spa!
