Airbnb Apartment - Providencia, Santiago

We stayed in an Airbnb apartment in the Providencia neighborhood of Santiago from March 14-19, 2024. We paid $108/night. finally, a good value and fairly priced for a beautifully furnished, large two bedroom apartment. One of our favorite short-stay Airbnb’s ever! (We’d expect a much better rate for a longer stay.) Here’s the link to the listing. Perfectly comfortable and very well equipped. We enjoyed Santiago so much. We saw our friend Jesus, a Venezulean guy we met at Machu Picchu.

We went to two museums: Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art and the Museum of Memory and Human Rights. We cooked several meals in the apartment but did go out for Indian and Italian food.

Takarua Lodge - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, Chile

We were here March 9-13, 2024 ($153/night without breakfast — a little overpriced). Location Location Location! This is the island's favorite sunset spot and we were just steps away from the Moai statues! Takarua Lodge on Easter Island was a perfect choice for our magical four night stay! Fresh flowers, breakfast on our patio with the chickens and roosters in a spacious and cozy room with beautiful blue towels! (Anything but shades of dull white!)

The hotel staff along with everyone we met here delivered their best! As we were boarding the plane a local tour guide told us to tell our people that they are welcome here and to please come!!

We almost booked a private tour on Easter Island but was so glad we chose the two-day, small group tour from Green Island Tours instead. What a great group of about 8 of us! Much more fun than doing it along with just a guide. On Easter Island, there is a separate Rapa Nui National Park entrance ticket required to visit all the locations with moai (except the sunset spot near our hotel that requires no ticket). We also did Green Island Tour stargazing night tour. That was awesome! Scroll to see the special pic below included in the tour of us in front of the moai at Anakena beach!

Holiday Inn Airport Terminal - Santiago

We were here March 7-9, 2024 ($227/night including breakfast — a premium price because of the proximity to the airport terminal) before leaving for Easter Island. And then again on March 13th after a late evening arrival back from Easter Island, and then again on March 19th prior to a very early transcontinental departure. Very convenient, comfortable and well-managed. Just a few minutes easy walking from both the domestic and international terminals. Friendly staff!
