The regions around Mendoza, Argentina are full of wineries, but we surprised ourselves and visited only one — Sposato Family Vineyards. Because when you discover an award-winning winery with your same name, of course you go, you sip, you enjoy!

We’ve visited lots of wineries in California and in the Willamette Valley wine country of Oregon, near our hometown of Portland, but we’ve never had an experience quite like our visit to Sposato Family Vineyards! We were there for six hours including an extensive private tour and an exquisite lunch of fresh Chilean salmon prepared on the nearby outside grill to order. We sipped their lovely wines the entire time! We even took our shoes off. It was elegant, relaxed, and for real!

We discovered Sposato Family Vineyards on Instagram in 2018 and intended to visit during their summer (our winter) of 2020/2021. The worldwide Covid-19 pandemic altered those plans until 2024. It was worth the wait and definitely built up our resolve and anticipation. We’ve been in touch since 2018 with USA-based Karen Sposato, part owner and marketer extraordinaire. Thanks Karen!
